This TMA covers the first 9 sessions. It consists of a three-phase project. Please solve all phases. You must submit your source files well commented in a NetBeansIDE project. Also you must submit a single word file containing:

Overview

Computer users would like to organize their digital photos into albums since they can easily have an extensive growing digital photo collection. The user can create many albums with unique titles. This would help the user to easily find the pictures of their own selves, photos that have been taken by a certain camera, or even downloaded from WhatApp… etc. In this TMA you’re required to implement a Photo organizer application. The requirements for this application are in the following phases:

Phase 1:

Create a separate class each in a . java file to represent a photo, an album and albums list.
Each photo has a file name, a year the photo was taken and can also be tagged by the user. The year is an integer value which should be greater than zero and less than or equal current year.
Each album should have a unique title and a list of photos. However, created album may have no added photo (empty list).
The albums list contains all created albums.

Each class must store its state in private variables. All required access is done through public methods. The public methods which you must implement allow the user to do the following:

- Initiate, get and set the state of any created object.
- Create a new album in your list and give it a custom unique title.
- Add a photo to a specific album if it is not already there.
- Display all album lists including empty albums.
- Save album into a file

If the user attempts do an operation that will violate the state of objects, you must check for it. In that case, the operation should be ignored and the application should give back an error message.
Furthermore avoid clones of duplicates. An album should not be added twice to the album list and a photo can only be added once in any respective album. On the other hand, the same photo can belong to multiple albums.


Phase 2:

The application should use a text file to capture that whole albums list. To do this, add two methods to your albums list class to save and load the created albums and its content into a text file so that it is restored for next run time.
Java provides a facility to create your own exceptions which are basically derived classes of Exception. Write a class that defines a duplicate exception. The duplicate exception will be thrown if album titles are duplicated in the list or an added photo is already in the album.


Phase 3:

The application has to be a GUI (Graphical User Interface) application. Create a window that consists of the window title: Title of your project. Design your window by using minimum four different user interface controls like labels, text field, buttons, text area, etc.


Question:

What is the best choice to reuse your written code, if the user wants also to organize other media types such as video or audio files? Justify your answer.

About TMA:
The TMA covers the advanced accounting concepts and practices in the businesses. It is marked out of 100 and is worth 20% of the overall assessment component. This TMA requires you to apply the course concepts. The TMA is intended to:
ïƒک Assess students’ understanding of key learning points within chapter 1, 3, 4 and 5.
ïƒک Increase the students’ knowledge about the reality of the advanced Accounting issues.
ïƒک Develop students’ communication skills, such as memo writing, essay writing, analysis and presentation of material.
ïƒک Develop the students’ ability to understand and analyze different issues that corporations might face in real world.
ïƒک Develop basic ICT skills such as using the internet.

The TMA:
This TMA is divided into two parts. Part A “business combination” and Part B “intercompany transaction and relevant information”.

The TMA requires you to:
1- Review various study chapters in addition to supplementary materials.
2- Conduct a deep information search using the internet and your E-Library. You are expected to use E-library sources to support your answers. A minimum of 3 sources is required.
3- It’s imperative that you write your answer using your own words. Plagiarism will be penalized depending on its severity and according to AOU plagiarism policy.
4- Present your findings in not more than 2,000 words ± 10%
5- You should use a Microsoft Office Word and Times New Roman Font of 12 points.
6- You should use Harvard referencing style for in-text citation and list of references.

1-What effect does the elimination of intercompany sales and cost of goods sold have on consolidated net income? What effect does the elimination of intercompany accounts receivable and accounts payable have on consolidated working capital?(5 marks)

2-On January 1, 2014, Portland Incorporated paid $300,000 for 60% of Sandy Company's outstanding capital stock. Sandy reported common stock on that date of $250,000 and retained earnings of $100,000. Plant assets, which had a five-year remaining life, were undervalued in Sandy's financial records by $10,000. Sandy also had a patent that was not on the books, but had a market value of $60,000. The patent has a remaining useful life of 10 years. Any remaining fair value/book value differential is allocated to goodwill. Sandy's net income and dividends paid the first three years that Portland owned them are shown below.

About TMA:
The TMA covers theaccounting information systems concepts and practices in the businesses; as you work, you will gain confidence in your ability to use the accounting information systems of real company. It is marked out of 20 and is worth 20% of the overall assessment component. It is intended to assess students’ understanding of some of the learning points within chapters 1 to 3. This TMA requires you to apply the course concepts.

The TMA is intended to:
ïƒک Increase the students’ knowledge about the reality of the accounting as a profession.
ïƒک Assess students’ understanding of key learning points within chapters 1 to 3.
ïƒک Develop the ability to understand and interact with the nature of the accounting information systems in reality.
ïƒک Develop students’ communication skills, such as memo writing, essay writing, analysis and presentation of material.
ïƒک Develop basic ICT skills such as using the internet.
The TMA requires you to:
1- Review various study chapters (from Chapter 1 to 3) of the textbook“Accounting Information Systems, by Richardson, Chang, and Smith. 2nd edition with Connect Access. Loose-leaf packaged text with Connect Access Card: ISBN 9781260088663McGraw Hill Education” and apply some of the concepts within it.
2- Conduct a simple information search using the internet.
3- Present your findings and your answers within the specified word count.
4- You should use a Microsoft Office Word and Times New Roman Font of 12 points.
5- You should read and follow the instructions below carefully. Each part of the process will carry marks for the assignment.

General instructions for students:
Plagiarism: It is imperative that you write your answers using your own words. Plagiarism will be penalized depending on its severity and according to AOU plagiarism policy.

Word count:Your answers are expected to be within the specified word count. A 10% deviation from word count limit is acceptable. Not adhering to specified word count could result in the deduction of up to 4 marks of your total TMA mark.






Format and Presentation:In your answer, you should explain each point or inquire separately.

If it looked like rain, he put on a jacket and took his umbrella, and he drove to school. If it looked sunny, he left his jacket and umbrella at home and walked to school. 1. A monumental change is emerging in accounting: the movement away from the decades-old method of periodic financial statement reporting and its lengthy closing process, and toward issuing financial statements on a real-time, updated basis … real-time financial reporting provides financial information on a daily basis. Current technology allows financial events to be identified, measured, recorded, and reported electronically, with no paper documentation (Source: “Real-Time Accounting,” The CPA Journal, April 2005).
Discuss the above statement explaining:
• Would a shift toward real-time financial statements make the financial information more useful or less useful? More or less relevant? More or less reliable?
• In this regard, what is the potential role of the accountant?

In this assignment, you are requested to work on the business plan of an IT project of your choice. The project can be your final year project at AOU. Therefore, you are requested to complete the three following tasks:
Task 1: Writing Report - Use Report Template in Moodle
Provide a report entitled “Project Title_Student Name_Student ID.doc” that describes the definition phase and planning phase of your selected project.
The definition phase of the project plan must discuss the following items:
- Change and strategy drivers for the project (5 Marks)
- Goals and scope (5 marks)
- Specification (5 marks)
- Team and Responsibilities (5 marks)
- Assumptions (5 marks)
The planning phase of the project plan must discuss the following issues:
- Work Breakdown structure (10 marks)
- Cost estimation and budgeting (10 marks)
- Network activity diagram (10 marks)
- Critical path and project duration (10 marks)
The report must be written in clear English language and should range between 1350and1650words.

Task 2: Implementation using MS Project
Implement in MS Projectthe project plan entitled“Project Title_Student Name_Student ID.mpp”.
The following information presented in the MPP filemust be consistent with the description presented in the report:
- Gantt chart (10 marks)
- PERT diagram (10 marks)

Task 3: Oral Presentation
Prepare and present to your class power point slides describing the plan of your project. The presentation must be entitled “Project Title_Student Name_Student ID.ppt”. The marks will be allocated based on the quality of the slides (5 marks), quality of the oral presentation (5 marks), and how much convincing is the student in his/her project plan proposal (5 marks).
